Tony Cokes

Tony Cokes – installation and video artist. Graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. Holder of scholarships awarded by the Rockefeller Foundation and Guggenheim Foundation, among other bodies. His works have been exhibited at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art and Whitney Museum of American Art, Documenta X in Kassel, and the Louvre in Paris. Professor at the Department of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University in Rhode Island. His practice addresses the manners of constructing identity and representing race, gender and class.
