Katarzyna Górna is one of the most important representatives of Critical Art, the generation of artists who in the 1990s disputed the Polish reality of post-communist transformation and reworked lifestyle and political taboos, addressing suppressed social issues. A graduate of “Kowalnia,” the famed sculpture studio of Grzegorz Kowalski at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Author of installations, sculptures, videos and films. Górna’s work focuses on the perspective of the female gaze and images of the functioning of women in culture.
